Brampton, lies to the east of Carlisle. It is a very picturesque town with many beautiful red sandstone buildings typical of the area. Capon Hill is just outside the town centre and this is where in 1746 the survivors of Bonnie Prince Charlie’s assault on Carlisle Castle were hung by the Duke of Cumberland. Quarryside campsite is a small secluded site in the hamlet of Banks and on the route of the Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail. We only accept campers on foot or bike - no cars or Caravans. Basic facilities but in a beautiful location. Open Easter to October. Call 016977 2538 or email.
